we know there are loads of you out there who are eager to help by introducing us to alternative meds or things that might help improve the situation.however, joan wishes to leave and go to heaven soon. we do appreciate everyone's concern but please do respect her wish to go to a better place where she would not be in pain.
joan's family, esp her mum is very glad for all the donations that were given. she is very strong now for joan and we shall all be strong for her as well.
as joan is not taking medicine for cancer, her condition is inevitably deteriorating and she is starting to lose mobility in her right arm. she spends most of her time in bed.we can only pray that it will be painless when she leaves. she has done so much for us all, touched so many hearts and even has a trust fund set up. all of these things were not expected ... she has said before that her mission was to spread the word of God and she did. she has proved that God's love is all around and that there are a lot of kind souls here.
once again, pray for God to take her away with no pain and no suffering. to give her courage. thanks!

Dear Joan,
I can understand what you are going through for two reasons:
A few years ago, I had a condition which gave me terrible pain for a few months, especially at night. I had to take some ery strong painkillers to get relief.
Secondly, I work with people such as you, patients suffering from different cancers. I have seen a young boy, a few years your junior, with cancer of the bone. Like you, he was brave. He tried to attend school as much as he could and sit for exams too!
May God give you, Joan, His strength and Mercy to bear and lessen your suffering. Also remember always that it is temporary. Christ Jesus has prepared a place for you. "In my Father's house there are many dwelling places" (John 14). If you trust Him, and believe He died for your sins, u have nothing to fear. I assume you are looked after by palliative doctors (specialise in pain control). Tell them if u don't feel comfortable. If you are not under any such doctor, your carers can email me (see my blog under profile).
Also, it is not true that all cancer patients have more and more pain until the end. That's a common misconception probably from hearing "horror stories". And there is always help available!
Again, I want to remind those who are looking after joan to not be discouraged, you have done well. Get enough rest and relaxation too.
love,
ernestdoe

Hi Joan,
Sometimes God perform miracles in ways you would not understand. Continue to press on and focus on Him. Trust and believe Him for the best of everything. As in Isaiah 55: 8-9 says "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
God's will be done in your life.

rev kobus prob makes alot of money serving in tis ministry, like many other so called faith healers. joan is sick in bed, perhaps someone may ask him to drop by her place instead...
i understand too well, when all alternatives had been exhausted, a painless depature is all one could ask for. i know tis very well, becos i lost somone dear to me some years ago. confidence in the healthcare system, alternative quackers & my religion were among other tings i've lost in tis whole process. life is truly full of sufferings, if not from the pains of diseases, other troubles will surely follow. damn god, if u exist, end her sufferings and let her go now in peace.
even if the christian god is fake, i'm sure she'll be in a better place, simply becos joan is a good person.
the rest of us, lets stop bugging her frens to account of joan's condition. lets contribute to the trust fund instead, for there r many others out there who need help. even when joan is gone, tis legacy (trust fund) will remain to help those in need....

beware of so-called miracle workers. May are not gifted as they claim. A lot of things which u see at such sessions are set up to convince people.
If they were real, they would walk into cancer wards to cure people instead of working in carefully controlled environments with an audience. Compare with biblical instances of healing by Jesus and the Apostles. No stages, shouting loudly, showmanship or large audience or theatrics.

Dear Anonymous,
Do not be bitter. I can understand how strongly u feel. I lost my mother to cancer in 2001. You are right that this world is full of pain and suffering. True christianity does not teach that if u believe, u will have no pain no illness and no suffering, or u will be happy and prosperous all the time, but God will give u the strength to go through trials and suffering and pain. God will not heal everyone who is ill. Imagine,if He heals every seriously ill person everytime, no one will die. Sometimes, God uses terminal illness to bring his child home to heaven. Death is a gateway to heaven, although it is sad for those it leaves behind, but if we have faith to know where our loved one is going to, we will be comforted.
Isaiah 57
1 The righteous perish,
and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away,
and no one understands
that the righteous are taken away
to be spared from evil. 2 Those who walk uprightly enter into peace;
Revelation 14:13
Then I heard a voice from heaven say, "Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them."
Hope I don't sound overly preachy!
:)
regards.

Dear Joan,
I am moved to tears by your story and inspired by your courage in your battle against cancer. Your strength and faith in Jesus humbles me. We may not know each other but we are sisters in Christ. I am praying for you and will offer up the chaplet of divine mercy for the Lord to ease your suffering. Keep your eyes on Jesus - He is there with you and He will keep to his promises.
" Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and gentle in heart. And you will find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30.
Words from our Master which never fail to comfort. Be strong and trust in Him.
You are in my prayers, Joan.

but will u realli accept it when u hv to go? when god sends his angel to bring u to him, will u sae yes?
how bout those people u love here and now den? can u sae goodbye...?
will u stop loving them, now dat ure still alive, though ure sufferin and in pain.. u can still love, cant u? though in heaven u can still continue lovin, but u cant be with them physically, u can no longer feel the wrmth of their hands in urs, when they embrace u, wrap u up tight in their arms. can u stil enjoy dat?
it may be suffering now.. but ure nevr alone, never... and will u exchange relief for love?
if i cld i wud like to hold ur hand and tell u, i wun let u go... i wun... u hv won the battle thus far.. will u give up now...? u are never alone... so dun give up.. i will be prayin for u.. the reason to life lies in lovin nt livin, so if u give up now, u wun be givin up ur life but givin up ur love.. and if i cld.. i wish i cld take away all ur pain and put it on myself instead...

i noe wad u said is right,, and they are the words from his mouth, but u also muz noe this, if the lord wants to heal everyone, he can, if he wants to stay death he can, the lord is omnipotent and he can do wad he wants...
it is also true dat being a christian is not all happy and prosperous, but the lord also says he will never forsake us.. he will also nv giv us tests dat he has not given enough grace for us to handle, i truely believe joan will live on, i hv no doubts in her strength and i believe she will pass the test, if everyone were to give up easily, can we den appear in front of god and account for our lives?
the lord has also said dat if we had faith the size of a mustard seed, we can tell the mountain to rise and move, it will rise and move.. has not those who displayed faith in jesus found themselves healed.. why shud joan be any different?
i will be bitter and i will speak.. just as Job has done.. i will nt accept the lord taking joan away.. but i noe joan will live and she will continue lovin

Hi Joan,
I do not know you personally, and I was introduced to this page by a friend.
It is admirable you have come this far, because you are and have gone through one of the worst fears in all of us. While many are wasting their life away, you are one of the many others who have been struggling to live a meaningful life.
My best pal has leukemia, and my soulmate's father has been recently diagnosed with cancer too. You are not alone in this fight, and take comfort that the many who loves you are standing by you. The joy and laughter you have given to the people around you, is not forgotten. For the person that you are, for the love you have given, these people have embraced you into their life.
I could understand why you wish to give up. It was never an easy war to begin with. As much as many do not wish to see you give up, a part of me tells me it is extremely tired to fight on a prolonged war in pain and agony. Of course, I would love to see you fight on.
Do not be afraid of whatever lies in front of you. In my early days as a Christian, I was often taught a special belief and I would like you to keep this belief too. God does not forsake us, it is always us who forsakes God. Therefore, keep your heart with Him and you will see that God shall help you through what lies ahead of you, no matter what it is.
For those whom have been supporting her, and her family, you have done a good job. However, if it is Joan's wish to leave, we have to respect her wish. Everyone has a mission in life, that God put us here for. Perhaps, Joan has completed her life mission and it's time for her to return to God. There will be a time where all of us will have to return to Him.
At least for one thing, Joan will live in eternity.
Ed

Dear Joan,
Please dont' give up. I know you've gone through a lot, but dont give up. You've not exhausted all avenues yet, you need to detoxify your body, get your body's pH up to the alkaline range, and fill it with essential nutrients for the body's immune system to work. Cancer can be reversed, even in advanced stages.
Please respond if you wish to give it a try.

Hello Joan and her carers,
I am not a Christian, but Joan's story has been inspiring. Truly, we may always think of ourselves as ordinary and never know what we're capable of, until disaster strikes. This is true for Joan as well as for her mother, her friends, and the RGS girls, past and present.
Joan's story has illustrated that we are bigger than our mortal bodies. Even as Joan leaves us slowly everyday, the lessons that her story has taught us will remain in the hearts of every stranger who knows of her. Joan, you can rest assured that you have done a lot of good to a lot of people in your unexpectedly short time here.
To Joan's family and friends, those who have been intimately involved in her trial, I'm sure Joan will live on in your memories. Let's continue Joan's legacy by choosing to remember her undying courage and continuing to be inspired by that in our paths from here on.
It doesn't have to be sad; it doesn't have to be tragic. Joan has lived a more fulfilling life than most of us ever will, and those whom she has touched will become better persons for it.

Dear Joan,
We are years apart in our ages - I'm at least a decade older than you. But your story has taught me what it means to live a meaningful life, just as you are doing. Your experience teaches us all to discover God in different ways and I just want to say thank you.
May the Lord's blessings be upon you always, dear Joan. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Be strong!!

Hey Joan,
If you feel it's time to fly, then perhaps it really is time to. Surely you will live on in the hearts and minds of those you've touched, cared for and loved. The fates have definitely not been kind to you, but instead of waging a war against destiny and all you once believed in, you chose to embrace your Creator (i'm not particularly religious) - in doing so, perhaps you opened many doors for others. Your will, joie de vivre, and fire - how can I forget? How can anyone who's read your story forget? Be strong...if it's time to say goodbye, don't say it with tears.

Even though I walk

Fly, fly little wing
Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heaven's love
Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
And fly again
Fly, fly precious one
Your endless journey has begun
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
There is peace forevermore
But hold this mem'ry bittersweet
Until we meet
Fly, fly do not fear
Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
But I won't forget
Fly, fly little wing
Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light

Dear Joan... The night sky is beautiful because God has created both static and mobile stars. Our lives are just like those little stars, shining and brightening up the night sky in our own unique coolness. Many stars shined a long time but remined dim on the same location. Those that turned astray became blackholes. Some energetic ones shined extra brightly. A few pretty mobile ones may have flew past with a bright trace, leaving behind a wishing hope to those who believe. Then... once a while... God may allow a really big and lovely one to blaze and thunder through the night before leaving a crater on Earth as a mission wake up call for those He loves. I believe many lives are touched and changed because you've crossed and lit a part of their journey. Joan, God has promises that He holds tomorrow. ^_^ ... praying for you and your family...

It's me again the CLT remember?
You've really touched my life and it really pains me to let you go..but how selfish it would be of me to hope u to be here with us while u suffer.
Hang in there Joan..he who created you will come down to take you away..dun let go of his hand. There u will have no suffering and pain but happiness and eternal life! You will be remembered by all and always be loved!
Inspired by u always..

Thinking of you fondly throughout my day ... feeling helpless as any word of comfort seems unable to serve its purpose ... but still I send my loving presence through this blog ... to you, your family and your faithful friends. You have carried your cross faithfully. Thank you for sharing with me a part of your life which stands firm in faith, hope and love of our Risen Christ Jesus. Loving you in Jesus' name, aunty len.

A song for Joan:
Don't you fret, my dear Joan,
You won't feel any pain
A little drop of rain
Can hardly hurt you now,
I'm here,
And God will keep you safe
And God will keep you close
And rain will make the flowers grow.
But you will live, dear Joan,
Oh, God above,
If I could heal your wounds with words of love....
You will live a hundred years
if I could show you how,
I won't desert you now,
the rain can't hurt you now,
the rain will wash away whats past,
God will keep you safe
God will keep you close
You'll sleep in God's embrace at last.
The rain that brings you here is heaven blessed
The skies begin to clear and you;re at rest
A breath away from where I am
You've come home from so far..
